Hello

I am Jenifer. I have been Lotte Berking since 2006 when I first met Lotte's daughter, Esther Fairfax. Since then I have trained in the technique, helped Esther write two books, taught and co-trained some of the next generation of teachers at Esther's studio, and since 2012 have been running classes with a wonderful group of lotte berkers here in west berkshire, as well as at festivals and retreats. I Am passionate about the JOY of movement and would love to have you join us!

rooted in modern ballet

With its roots in modern ballet it is more a work of art than a workout. And dancers are some of the strongest people there are. By the end of a class your body will have had a full M.O.T. - You will have a stronger core and the rest of you will feel the benefit as well. After A few weeks you will notice your posture improving, your strength increasing and some even report increased grace! lotte likened it to sculpture.  

endorphins

We are not just about the body. And we are definitely not about punishment. although the classes can be hard we have FUN. Laughter is a  big part of class. When we approach wellness like this we release wonderful endorphins that lift our mood and give us a natural high. Because every class is different we also keep our brains limber and firing on all cylinders.

be yourself

I hate before and after photos. I don't believe there is a right way for any of us to look. I think we should enjoy the body we inhabit as much as possible, have fun moving about in it. That said, when we are strong we feel we can do anything. i Love that feeling. That is why I Lotte BErk - I want to be able to do anything I set my mind to from the school parents' race to learning how to surf. I want to be as limitless as possible in my physicality, to feel good in my body. We live in our bodies every day - why not make sure we enjoy it?!

It is Mix of ballet and yoga, A vintage workout with chat and fun. Very good for tweaking your body shape, very good for lightening your soul.

What keeps me coming back for more? 

The other students and Jen!  Has definitely made a difference to my shape and I haven't needed to see the osteopath since I started just over 2 years ago....and I was going every couple of months!!!

The exercises are hard but really effective and great for strengthening legs and core muscles, and the classes are also great fun and quite unique in their style!

I describe it as a cross between yoga and ballet but much more fun - my friend and I refer to it as Boga!

It's a good strong practice that I know is keeping me fit, in all sorts of body places that are important. It complements, but is different to my yoga practice.

I love the fact that they are based on dance exercises, as a child I always wanted to be a dancer and did lots of ballet, and so I really enjoy that aspect of it, feeling I have rekindled a part of my youth. Plus I can really feel the results in my fitness and lots of friends have commented on my legs!

  • We currently run two classes a week:

  • Bookings are taken via bookwhen.com/lotteberkoriginal
             

  • Classes last an hour. They all have the same structure but the exercises within that vary. We like to keep you on your toes!
     

  • We have an active Whatsapp group where I post updates and we chat. If you would like to join this please message me
     

  • Students usually wear close fitting clothes like leggings or tights. Please bring a yoga mat with you.
     

  • Classes are £12/session or a block of 5 for £50. 
     

  • If you are new to us we will need you to fill in our booking form. Please let me know of any medical conditions you may have so we can best work together! (I have copies of this to fill in in person if you would rather do it at your first class)
